Creating HealthSafe has been a labor of love.
The idea of HealthSafe started in 2025 after I had finished servicing new and older clients for my health insurance business.
I started to get calls about how to find their Medicare Advantage plan membership IDs or Medicare IDs in general.
It was compounded with some of my clients not knowing who their doctors were or knew them, but had to look all over to find their information.
Likewise the same for their prescriptions.
And most didn't know what policies they had before talking to me or during our yearly checkups or what was inside their policies.
So I decided to create an app that kept all of their major information all in one place which has biometric locks, PIN locks, and emergency wipe data.
Because we're NOT going to compromise data, right?
So far the app is almost built.
The only issue that I'm having so far is with the documents page which holds your policy pdfs.
This page...
This page has been the thorn in the entire app and one of the reasons why it sat for nearly 6 months as I was racking my brain as to how to get the page to load with the correct information while keeping the information private for HIPAA related reasons.
I've tried going bare workflow, which in laymens terms means using Android Studio to try to build out the pdf viewer itself. But I'm not a "developer" devloper if you know what I mean. I'm a Myspace, Javascript, plug and paste massive bits of code to splice together a working website/app kind of "developer".
I can sometimes translate the code and copy the same patterns to add more code directly, so I can do that. But Android Studio Greek speaking builds? No. I'm a managed workflow, which in laymens terms means using Expo development and simplier codes and sandboxes to build things.
Expo and Powershell (your system 32 command center on your computer) are amazing and can do wonderful things that a year ago I had no idea could do, which explain why hackers can do what they do.
So I'm working on trying to get the documents page to work. If it works, then I'll be going through the steps to releasing the app for publication.
So wish me luck! If you happen to see this diary here, then that means I'm in the process of releasing the app or have released the app.
I hope you all like it and if you have any comments, give me an email.
